I'm having difficulty backing out of my garage because of the Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) system. The car detects nearby objects and brakes to avoid a collision. I can usually back out after repeating this process several times, but it's very frustrating.

I just slapped a bike rack on the back of my car, and now my sensors are freaking out, thinking my bike is some sort of obstacle! Had to ditch the parking assist feature, so now I’m back to my old-school parking skills. Gotta love a little adventure, right? Just a heads up, turning that thing off takes a bit of finesse!

Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity settings on the reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) system?

Some vehicles allow you to tweak how close an object needs to be before it kicks in.

Alternatively, you could temporarily disable the feature when backing out of tight spaces, just like @RomanSingh said.

It is a balance between safety and convenience, I guess.

It happened to me, too. I have had it to stop me over tiny things like a garden hose. Sometimes, it is too much, but I guess the system's trying to be extra cautious.

Thanks. Will try this one.
