We recently bought a Prologue and need help with our charger. We have a 240-volt outlet with a 30-amp breaker and 10-gauge wiring. Our portable charger uses 32 amps. Can we adjust it to use 24 amps instead?

You’ll need to check if your portable charger allows adjustable amperage settings. Many have an app or button for this.

The Honda portable charger doesn't have any ability to adjust the amperage draw, but there are Level 2 chargers (like the Emporia model that Honda provides) that do allow you to adjust this. You might be able to install a Level 2 charger and adjust the amperage draw to work with your existing system. This would also allow for you to upgrade your charging in the future.

It's not always possible to simply adjust a portable charger from 32 amps to 24 amps. So you must get a compatible charger. The best solution is to get a portable EV charger that's designed to work with a 30-amp circuit. Look for a charger that has an adjustable amperage setting or one that's specifically designed to draw a maximum of 24 amps. This will ensure it's within the limits of your electrical system or you can upgrade your electrical circuit
