Backup Camera weirdness

When it's raining (which it does in No California in the winter with some regularity) and I back out of my garage, raindrops hit the backup camera, and the system interprets that as something I'm about to hit, and slams on the brakes. If I tap the brakes, it then lets me back up until it does it again. So I sort of lurch out of the driveway. Anyone else experience this?? Any fix??

Try applying Rain-X water repellent on it first if it helps.

I have experienced this a couple times. It appears the backup camera location/design could be better. I might try the Rain-X idea!
