So I’m seriously eyeing a 2024 Honda Prologue, but I gotta admit, I"m kinda freaked out about this whole Ultium platform deal. Honda’s talking about dropping their own e-platform soon and I’m kinda worried that the Prologue with Ultium could get abandoned and left hanging without decent support. Anyone else feeling this way?

Totally get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I doubt Honda’s just going to toss the car aside. It kinda boils down to how long you’re planning to keep it. Since it’s built on GM’s platform, there should still be some level of support, particularly when it comes to parts.

Yeah, good question. As @ChrissJ77 said, I wouldn't thing Honda would ignore the car. Seeing you haven't replied yet, how long do you plan to own the car?

Don't sweat it too much, though. Honda's in this for the long haul. The Prologue runs on GM's Ultium, so even if Honda switches platforms down the line, GM's support for Ultium tech should keep things rolling smoothly. If you are planning to drive it for a few years, you will be in good hands.

Hi, @ChrissJ77! As someone in the industry, I can say that the Ultium platform is robust and highly scalable. Even if Honda transitions to their own platform, there is no indication that they would completely abandon support for Prologue owners. Plus, the partnership with GM ensures that maintenance, parts, and software updates will continue. It is a well-integrated system designed to evolve with the market.

I don't think you will be left hanging.
At least this is how I see Honda - supporting its past models.
Even if they move to their own platform, Prologue owners should still get plenty of support.
Just like how older models still have parts and services years later.
