Hi guys. New to the forum.

Just got my Honda Prologue, and I'm figuring out the charging thing. I know 80% is the go-to, but I’ve got some 250+ mile trips coming up, and I'm kinda sweating that might not cut it. I’d rather not make a few stops to recharge! Is there any way to push past that 80% limit? I’m using the EVGo app if that helps. Would love some tips! Thanks!

You have to change the limit from 80% to 100% from the car setting, not from the app.
When you arrive at the destination, above 25% before you park it. You don't want a dead battery days later when you want to start your car.
As a matter of fact, highways with up hills and using the AC will drop your range. Make use of the regenerative braking as much as possible. I hope it helps and congrats for the car.

That should be the mindset. I always make sure I charge mine to 100% whenever I go for long road trips. But when I'm just in the city, 80% is the way to go.

I don't understand why some owners always stick to the 25-80% charging range, even on long trips. They seem to be putting themselves at risk.

Welcome, and congrats on the Honda!

Yes, you need to adjust the charging limit from the car's settings.

Also, hitting for longer ranges is a matter of efficiency, too.

Along with charging to 100% before you go, take advantage if regenerative braking on highways or hilly routes. Also, if you are careful with using climate control, you will get a few more miles.

I wish you safe travels!

Plan your charging on the route with PlugShare. This way you can save time because you minimize stops, but also find more convenient places to recharge.

Hey, @hammer2204! Congrats and welcome to the forum.

For charging stations, I recommend checking out the ChargerPoint network. They have a good number of locations along major routes.

Yep, you can adjust the charging limit for those longer trips! Just keep in mind it’ll slow down a lot past 80% on DC fast chargers. If you’re not in a rush, it’s fine to top off for peace of mind. I’ve done it on a long family trip and just packed snacks while it charged.

Start with 100% any time you need the range and "precondition" the inside climate before you leave while plugged in. That way you won't use battery charge to do it. You very well may need or want to stop and charge but you don't tneed to charge to 100% to get home. Just add enough to get you there. set a destination DC fast charger with the map and the care will get the batter ready for fast charging. It will charge fastest between 10-65%. You sould be able to add about 60 mile in 10 min of charging if I remember correctly. Maybe you can Level 2 charge at your destination. I did a 1 day 250m round trip in a different car for a meeting. across the street a mall had free L2 charging so I plug in there in the morning. had a break later and moved my car. I got a free charge and didn't have to stop at all for a fast charge. although I stopped to eat and Tesla fast charger was on the edge of the restaurant parking lot that I could have used while eating. I have a GM adapter and can charge my prologue on Tesla chargers that are open to Blazers, FYI. Have fun
