HondaLink notifications are useful, but also a headache

I was trying to enable notifications in HondaLink for my Prologue to get alerts like Charge Complete and Charge Abort, but then I remembered why I disabled notifications in the first place.

I own three Hondas, and my 2019 Insight has a fuel pump recall. The issue? Honda has 1.5 million fuel pumps to replace, and they’ve basically said “wait for a postcard” to get yours. That was back in 2020, and I’m still waiting.

Since there’s no way to silence or acknowledge recall notifications, I always have a red dot on the HondaLink app. The only way to stop seeing it? Turn off all notifications.

Anyone else frustrated by HondaLink’s notification system? It’d be nice if we could dismiss certain alerts instead of having them permanently stuck on the app.

Yeah, HondaLink’s notification system is a double-edged sword. I love the Charge Complete and Charge Abort alerts, but I wish Honda would let us toggle individual notifications instead of an all-or-nothing approach. Maybe they’ll update the app at some point to let us clear recall notices, until then, turning off notifications seems like the only option to avoid that red dot.

Are you on Android? Might be why it’s different from my iPhone. I turned off the badges to stop the Ridgeline recall alerts but kept the important ones, like charging interruptions, active. Just FYI—Hondalink’s notifications are a bit slow sometimes.
