How can I get more range? New wheels are a possibility, and I'm wondering if removing the dealer crossbars would help with aero and range.

Anything to make it more aero will help as well as slowing down. It's shaped like a brick and is higher off the ground. great for state and county routes or city but not a high speed, distance road machine. How much range do you want/need?

Yeah, crossbars can totally munch on your range, especially when you're cruising on the highway. All that extra drag makes your ride work harder. so you'll definitely see a hit to your efficiency.

I swapped out the stock wheels for some aftermarket ones, and yeah, I’ve noticed a tiny dip in range, but it's honestly no biggie. My plan is to snag some custom-forged wheels later on, which should help me get that lost range back

You should focus on DCFC fast charging as opposed to finding a few more miles of range. If you charge a properly this doesn't matter. Range shouldn't be an issue for this car unless you live in an DCFC EV charging desert.

100% ditch the crossbars if you’re not using them. If you’re getting new wheels, go for light and aero ones. And don’t speed too much—going faster uses up more battery.

Not true, extensive FAST charging can cause issues with the batteries.
I'm interested to find out if batteries will last longer than advertised. It seems like most batteries actually AC charge most of the time and an occasional DCFC is nominal in terms of degradation. If you get 200,000 miles out of a battery and the car lasts that long and you loss at worst 15% of the battery range and electric motors still offer the same power as they age, I think damage at DCFC is a none issue. These batteries will last longer than expected. I'm hopeful and if not they definitely are getting better sooner than later.

It boils down to maintenance, meaning charging at the proper time, never letting the battery go below 20%, (I charge at 50%). Never charge full to 100% unless maybe going on a trip. Avoid DC rapid charging when not necessary. Also avoid extreme high and low temperatures. Don't be a race car driver. Use regenerative braking.

I'm in the same ethos but I will drive that car fast when I want! That pick up is too much fun and id you can't have a little fun it kind of sucks. I pay too much a month not to have a little fun with the pick up! Looking forward to smoking a WRX sometime soon!! 😆
