Liftgate issues

My car's liftgate is acting weird. It starts to close but then stops and opens back up. I don't know what's wrong with it.

Did you double-check the trunk? Like, make sure there’s nothing jammed in there or blocking anything?

My issue turned out to be a small obstruction in the sensor area. After clearing it, the liftgate closed without any issues. If it’s not that, a system reset or checking for faulty sensors might help.

I’m dealing with somewhat the same problem. The only way to keep it closed is by locking all the doors and then shutting the liftgate manually. After a day, I got the red warning light (red car + !) but managed to reset it. However, the issue persists. The dealer thinks it might be a sensor issue, so I’ll have to bring it in.
