So I was seeing a video the other day about Prologues, and there were photos of a power inflation kit in the trunk area, so I mean, this should be a standard right? But my Prologue Elite did not come with this kit. I would like to know if it is just me, or the same for everyone.

The Elite trim skips the power inflation kit because it’s rocking those self-sealing tires instead.

Could someone explain the point of the inflation kit? Like, if you get a flat from whatever and you’re chilling by the roadside, are you really gonna patch it up and refill it right there? Let’s be real - you’ll probably just ring up roadside assistance. Tbh, I don’t really see the point of those kits unless you’re super into DIY stuff, but that just sounds like a hassle!

Hi, @Kimiko!
As a professional in the automotive industry, I can clarify that the Prologue Elite's omission of the power inflation kit is a design choice. Instead, it features self-sealing tires, which are engineered to seal minor punctures automatically. There are users who appreciate the convenience of self-sealing tech, but the inflation kit can be useful for certain tire issues. This way, the needs for roadside repairs are minimized, and also it maximizes a smoother driving experience.

Have you checked if your prologue came with the self-sealing feature?

Common issue. The Prologue Elite does indeed skip the power inflation kit in favor of those self-sealing tires. They are designed to reduce the need for tire repairs, but I totally get why you would want that kit just in case. Keeping it short, it is not just you. Many have noticed this, too.

I might say the lack of a power inflation kit is a strategic decision based on self-sealing tires. It is good you think about being prepared for emergencies.

That's a fair point, most people would probably call for roadside assistance rather than patching it up themselves. I guess the kit is more for those who like to be prepared.

Thanks for the insight. I appreciate the explanation about the design choice. I’ll definitely check to see if my Prologue has the self-sealing feature. It’s good to know there are alternatives for handling minor punctures.

Thanks for confirming that. It’s reassuring to know I'm not alone in noticing the absence of the kit. I appreciate the info about the self-sealing tires, but having that kit for peace of mind would’ve been nice you know.

That's a good way to look at it, it does seem like a strategic choice with the self-sealing tires. Still, being prepared for emergencies is always on my mind.

I am glad you found this helpful! The self-sealing feature is an advantage for the Prologue. I wish you the best and safe rides!
