I recently pulled into a packed Tesla Supercharger site. My Prologue didn’t fit into the crowded stalls due to the position of the charge port (front driver’s side) and the super short Tesla cables, so I left and found a CCS DC Fast Charger.

Later, my AirBnB had a 50 Amp Tesla EVSE. Using my Lectron adapter, I got a dashboard message saying “Charging Failed, Service Charging System”, however, the Charging App said there was a problem with the cable: “try plugging in again”. I gave up after 8 times and ended up using a 120v outlet.

I understand the physical problems at the v2 SuperCharger, but why would a Tesla EVSE not charge a Prologue? Do we still need to wait for Honda to enable this? Any insights?

I’ve seen reports of some Tesla home chargers working with non-Tesla EVs and others not. I’m wondering if this is a firmware issue or just Tesla locking things down. You got that "Charging Failed, Service Charging System" message so maybe its like the Prologue is trying to communicate but something’s not syncing properly.

Could be that the Lectron adapter doesn’t fully support handshake protocols on that specific Tesla EVSE, or Honda still has some software tweaking to do. If Honda hasn’t officially enabled Tesla compatibility yet, that might explain it too. Either way, frustrating that you had to rely on 120V when a perfectly good charger was right there.
