Hey everyone, I wanted to share some updates on the Honda Prologue electric SUV.

In June 2024, 830 units were sold, bringing the total to 1,535. However, sales were affected by the cyberattack on car dealerships, which limited leasing options at some local dealerships for the last 10 days of the month. The Prologue is generally leased more than purchased outright.

But in July 2024, the Prologue had a major boost, selling 3,458 units and capturing 3.2% of Honda’s total sales for the month. This was thanks to the nationwide rollout, expanding its availability. Honda’s overall sales for July reached 112,742 units, a 1.1% increase from last year. By the end of 2024, total Prologue sales had surpassed 33,000 units, making it a strong contender in the EV market.

Anyone else following these numbers or waiting for their Prologue to arrive?

Leasing definitely makes sense for an EV like the Prologue, especially with incentives. Honda’s overall sales increase is impressive, but I’m more curious to see if they can keep pushing Prologue sales or if demand will level off.

I think the sales will level off since 2025 is the last model year for the Prologue. As Honda increases the advertisements for the “0” Series EV the demand for the prologue will fall. Honda will intercept the “declining curve” with increased sales (lease) incentives to deplete the unsold stock of prologues.
