Phone charger problem

My iPhone's charger won't work in my car's USB port, but it works fine on my PC. Is there something wrong with the Prologue's USB port?

It might not be a problem with the USB port itself, but I’m not sure. Have you tried a different cable or port in the car?

My son's phone usually charges fine, but sometimes it pops up with this weird message saying to check for something metal on the charger.
