Any advice for my buddy?

A friend of mine always says, "Buy a car only after it's had a year to settle in," but he's seriously considering the Honda Prologue. Other owners seem happy, well I am... but with his nearest dealer being 120 minutes away, he's nervous about software bugs and potential issues. :)

I'm not a big Honda fan, but I decided to try the Prologue. This is my first EV, and so far, it's been good. I haven't had any big problems with it.

Honda used GM to help them make the Prologue faster. Every car has some problems, but I don't think the Prologue will be worse than other cars.

Glad to hear the Prologue is treating you well! It’s always good to hear positive first impressions, especially for a new EV...

I went ahead and bought the Elite. I thought about leasing, but all the rules and the fact it's basically just renting kinda turned me off. And with how much I drive, I put over 1700 miles on it in the first month! Those mileage limits would've been a nightmare.

Wife and I leased one, we’ve had it for a week. It’s our first EV. There’s definitely a learning curve. So far so good, but we are dealing with a “frozen” infotainment screen at the moment. Hopefully there’s an easy fix. Wife loves the car by the way.

We leased ours (actually, my heart was set on a Rivian R1T that I could use to tow my camper, but the $$$ was just too much for me). I figured that technology may change significantly in 3 years and I might want to make a change then. But, we really have grown to enjoy driving this car and have consequently been running up the miles (we're about where you are in mileage). We can always just drive our ICE vehicle (VW Touareg diesel), but we like the Prologue better. After 3 years, we may find it's cheaper just to purchase the car than to pay $ 0.20/mile for the overage.
