Love the sleek look of flush door handles of EVs like that of Prologue, but BRRR! Anyone else in a cold climate tired of frozen shut doors? These things are great in California, but not so much when you need a pry bar to get in your car. Maybe car designers need to consider those of us who don't live in year-round sunshine! Don't wanna get frostbitten fingers so any tips for winterizing these fancy handles is welcome!

Agree with you on this. Honda should consider adding a backup method to open the door especially in freezing temps.

Try pouring warm water (think slightly warmer than lukewarm) around the B-pillar area of the frozen door and the handles. Be careful not pour on the windows since it might crack,

There is no other way but to pour warm water around the handles to defrost the handles just do it bit by bit because the sudden change in temperature might damage the surrounding parts just as @Penny J mentioned.

You are right! Flush door handles may look sleek, but they can be a real hassle in colder climates.
Frozen door handles are a common issue for EVs in areas with freezing rain and snow.
One method to avoid prying them open is using a de-icer spray or even applying a silicone lubricant around the door seals before the cold hits. It creates a barrier that helps prevent ice from forming.

Along with @Moonlink34's tips, you can use this one, too: just place a thin cloth or cover over the handle overnight when it's really cold, you know? Just something to prevent moisture from settling in. It is a bit of extra work, man, but it helps keep those handles from freezing shut.
